Saskia Gray – Winner of Manu Korero
Saskia Gray won the Pei Te Hurinui Jones Senior Māori section in our regional Manu Kōrero competition. There are two parts to the competition, a prepared speech up to 12 minutes in length and an un-prepared speech of up to 3 minutes in length. Her topic for the competition was: Māku anō tōku ao e waihanga – I myself will create my world. Saskia spoke for nearly 10 minutes on this topic. Saskia won both the unprepared section and the prepared section and was awarded over all winner in the Senior Māori section. Saskia was also awarded the trophy for best female speaker.
