Dance at Motueka High School

Through dance, ākonga strengthen their understanding of themselves, others, and their environment. Dance develops and explores ākonga’s understanding of ideas, cultures, rituals, and identity through the literacy of movement.

Within our Dance courses at Motueka High School, students will explore a variety of dance styles to value, sustain, and reflect stories, concepts, whakapapa, and Tikanga.  Dance empowers learners to recognise the increasing diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand and build connections across cultures. – Ref, NCEA Education, Dance.

Across all year levels there is a variety of courses students can take. Please refer to the course booklet for more information on these.
