Swimming

This is a summer sport held at the local Motueka High School Pool. 

This caters to all levels of swimmers from beginner to competitive.

Competitive swimmers have the opportunity to train over the winter months at the Richmond Aquatic Centre.

All children are taught to swim and can go on to attend competitive swim meets. eg: Tasman Secondary Schools, South Island Secondary Schools, NZ Secondary Schools, SNM Events, NZ Div 2, NAGS etc.

The summer season starts November through to April (weather dependent).

Jacob Satherley represented Motueka at the New Zealand Division 2 swimming champs in Dunedin on 9-13 May 2021.

Jacob is thrilled with his placings –  8th in 50m breaststroke, 9th in 100m breaststroke and 5th in 200m breaststroke.

Approx 500 swimmers attended this event who had to qualify to attend.  Jacob's achievement was a superb result that was achieved by hard work and dedication at training. Well done Jacob.
