Relief Cleaner

 

TEACHER IN CHARGE (TIC) SPECIAL LEARNING CENTRE (THE BASE)

Full-time permanent position.

We are a seeking a positive and creative teacher to manage our Special Learning Centre.

This person is required to develop and teach programmes and work with a team of dedicated Teacher Aides to implement and deliver learning to ORS students.

The successful applicant will need to be experienced in team leadership, the development and delivery of IEPs and ITPs, as well as managing a budget.  A passion for inclusion and individualised programmes would be an advantage. They must work effectively with Teacher Aides, parents, the wider school staff and develop a positive relationship within the Motueka community.

This position will commence at the start of the 2020 school year.

We are currently offering 2 part-time, fixed term English teaching positions. Being able to also teach Media Studies would be advantageous.

TRANSITION TEACHER

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

We are seeking a teacher to join our department to help students prepare for transition from school.

This position will be teaching Transition classes at NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3. Students work on individual learning plans completing a range of assessments that build a wide range of skills needed in the workplace.

This position will be 6 hours per week but there is a possibility these hours could increase in the second half of the year. Also hours in other subject areas are available and could be combined with this role.  Please state other speciality subjects.

Classroom teacher job description

 

DANCE TEACHER

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Dance teacher who has a student centred approach at the core of their practice. The successful applicant will inspire learners to develop their understanding of dance which extends to developing knowledge of global contexts, history and cultural understanding. We want our learners to be collaborative and risk taking in ways that fosters learning, joy and individual artistic expression.

Our ideal applicant will have a strong understanding of Contemporary Dance and choreography with strengths in at least one other genre. Understanding and confidence in teaching Maori Performing Arts is also advantageous.

Commitment to extracurricular performance opportunities is an essential part of this role.

We are a PB4L and restorative school as well as member of a Kahui Ako, which has a focus on culturally responsive pedagogy.

Learning Support Coordinator

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

The school Board of Trustees is seeking a Learning Support Coordinator

This role will: 

  • Support students through building an inclusive school or kura and cluster environment which encourages participation, progress and successful transitions
  • Support kaiako/teachers in schools and kura to lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners, and to strengthen their connections with early learning services
  • Support parents and whānau to build better relationships of understanding around learning support and establishing points of contact if needed
  • Work alongside other LSCs across the cluster and connect with the learning support facilitator and wider agencies, e.g. Oranga Tamariki, to access services and resources to support learners
  • Work with the school or kura leadership team to influence and encourage them to ensure all students receive the appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.

Motueka High school will be the base school for this position and the successful applicant will work full-time at this school.
