Special Olympics Swimming Champs – 18 March 2015

Blair Millar – 1st 15m Kickboard, 3rd 15m Swim, 3rd Relay 25m Freestyle, 4th 25m Freestyle
Emma Gillions – 2nd 15m Kickboard, 2nd 15m Freestyle

On 18 March, Motueka High School was represented by several students at the annual Special Olympics Swimming Champs for Nelson and Marlborough.  The chance to show off their swimming prowess was eagerly accepted and after finishing several practice sessions, the team was ready.  Outstanding swimming from Michael Tideman saw him gain two 1st place certificates and he added a 2nd place and two 3rd place ones as well.  Blair Millar showed remarkable improvement to gain a 1st place certificate along with two 3rd place certificates.  Emma Gillions competed for the first time and she gained two 2nd place certificates.

Also competing were the Rapana-Roach brothers, John and Luke, each gaining a certificate for taking part.  Well done!
